Agritechnica Postponed Until March 2022

The German Agricultural Society (DLG) is postponing the Agritechnica trade fair. Because of the continuing Corona pandemic as well as the progress of vaccination programs, both in Germany and abroad, the DLG, VDMA Agricultural Machinery Association and Agritechnica’s exhibitor advisory board have concluded that insufficient certainty for planning currently exists for the world-leading exhibition in November.

Rural Payments Agency opens window for farm payments for 2021

The Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) application window  opened on Thursday, March 18 for farmers to claim for their 2021 payments.
The claim window for customers with existing Countryside Stewardship (CS) and Environmental Stewardship (ES) revenue agreements  also opened on March 18th 2021

Poultry housing order set to be lifted at end of March

Compulsory housing measures for poultry and captive birds will be lifted at the end of this month, Britain's Chief Veterinary Officers have confirmed.
The housing measures were introduced in December as one of a range of measures to stop the spread of avian influenza.
It is currently a legal requirement for all farmers and keepers to keep their birds indoors and to follow strict biosecurity measures.
The last confirmed case of bird flu in poultry was over a month ago on 12 February in Scotland.

Key components include soil mapping based on sampling and remote sensing, proximal sensing of soils and crops, variable rate irrigation and variable rate spraying of fertilizers and herbicides, and automatic tractor navigation.
