Systems Development Engineer

As a Digital Agriculture Systems Development Engineer you will have the opportunity to come up with solutions of controlling and monitoring machines on the cutting edge of vehicle technology and agriculture. We’re looking for an engineer with the skills required to develop, install and support hardware to agricultural vehicles and implements for advanced measurement and control.

This role requires deep understanding of machine systems. We need an engineer who will use their passion to learn the latest tools and techniques and identify and implement system improvements. With a background in vehicle technology, you will use your skills to enable compatibility of systems across multiple brands of machinery through reverse engineering and diagnostics. Your great interpersonal skills will also assist you when demonstrating how to operate the systems as well as supporting and troubleshooting remotely.

Responsible to the managing director, you will be working within the software team where you will be communicating between software development and web development, gathering data from agricultural machines, and implementing design and structure into our products and services.

You will be involved directly in:

  • RTK
  • Serial Data (RS232)
  • Remote data transfer
  • Remote Diagnostics
  • Machine Telemetry
  • Actuator control (Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electric Motor Drives)
  • Wiring harness design and manufacture.
  • Software development
  • Hardware development
  • Web Development

You Have:

  • Experience in vehicle technology.
  • An understanding of agriculture
  • Experience in electronics,
  • Proven experience in CAN-BUS development
  • A firm understanding of Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • A firm understanding of I.T and you will be competent with a laptop, Windows and MS Office
  • Experience with hand tools and the ability to manufacture wiring harnesses
  • A good understanding of electronic fault diagnosis
  • A good manner with people, patience, and a good sense of humour.
  • Large vehicle operation experience
  • Clean Full UK Driving License
  • Software programming experience

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience in GNSS systems as well as GNSS correction and RTK
  • Experience in ISOBUS
  • Experience with precision agriculture machine control systems
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Degree in automotive technology, agricultural engineering, electronics, or related field
  • Web development experience
  • Understanding of electronic circuit design and development.

Digital Agriculture Field Support Engineer

An infinitely varied and exciting role, you will be responsible for providing high quality timely support to the Company’s growing UK customer base, both remote and on-site, as well as system installation and operator training. Typical systems include machine control, application rate and section control, steering, telemetry and data management, both hardware and software. We are totally independent so therefore you will be working with a wide range of manufacture's. You will be joining a team of like-minded professionals, focused on the development of future technologies and with a passion for the digital environment. Seasonal demands will require a flexible approach to working hours which is recognised in a generous annual leave allowance and a modern task-focused approach.


  • You’ll have thorough technical and troubleshooting experience (ideally supported by regular training) in agricultural technology systems, either from a dealership or manufacturer background
  • Your passion for the technology world and the increasing digitisation of systems will be obvious in conversation with you, and you’ll be able to confidently articulate their function and agronomic benefits
  • All-round experience with diagnostic systems, Isobus, GPS, GNSS or RTK experience would also be desirable
  • You’ll have good interpersonal and communication skills, along with a healthy standard of IT literacy including MS Office applications
  • Practical experience in wiring harness repair, makeup and installation would ease a swift integration
  • Your hands-on machine operator skills will be evident – the tractor cab will be a familiar environment and you will understand the context in which products and systems are installed, with a high degree of end user empathy and familiarity with touch screens, especially control systems for seed drills, sprayers and fertiliser spreaders
  • A full clean UK driving licence is required, and you’ll be comfortable with regular travel (occasionally overseas)
